During Vivid Sydney 2026, Kincoppal – Rose Bay will illuminate its iconic harbourside campus—creating a striking visual presence across Sydney Harbour and sharing our school with the wider community in a truly unique way.

A new light on Sydney Harbour

From some of Sydney’s most recognisable vantage points - including the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Sydney Opera House and The Rocks - our campus will become part of the harbour’s illuminated skyline.

Each evening, our buildings will contribute to the broader Vivid experience, offering a new perspective of the harbour that can be enjoyed by families, visitors and the wider community.

A bold expression of who we are

This installation has been thoughtfully designed using 12 powerful spotlights, inspired by the lights seen on the Harbour Bridge.

More than a visual display, it is a confident and creative expression of KRB’s identity -bold, courageous and full of spirit. It reflects exactly what we encourage in our students every day.

This is a first-of-its-kind activation for our school - an innovative way to participate in one of the world’s leading cultural festivals while placing KRB firmly on the Sydney stage.

Kincoppal-Rose Bay has a 140-year history of community connection. Illuminating the school during the iconic Vivid Sydney festival offers a rare opportunity to share our campus with the broader Sydney community through the medium of light.

The installation celebrates our iconic school - its heritage, its students, and its contribution to the cultural life of Sydney — visible to hundreds of thousands of Vivid Festival visitors each night from the harbour and vantage points.

The lights will illuminate nightly from 6:00pm to 11:00pm, from 22 May through 13 June 2026, in line with the Vivid Sydney Festival.

The school campus is not open to the public during the festival. The installation is designed to be viewed from the harbour foreshore and surrounding public vantage points. Families who are interested in learning more about a KRB education for their child are invited to attend the Discovery Evening which is taking place on Tuesday 26 May. Bookings can be made HERE.
